How long have you been delivering Catch Up® training?
Since November 2012
What’s been your greatest success as a Catch Up® trainer?
Bit soon to say just yet, but I will keep you posted!
What do you like best about Catch Up® training?
The training offers a variety of hands-on activities, making it real, which supports the theoretical and practical elements of the Catch Up® intervention. I love the way the training helps trainees empathise with struggling learners, which in turn supports effective delivery.
What would be your Catch Up® top tip/advice?
I am very passionate about the Catch Up® Literacy intervention, I feel it is in my blood! As I have been involved with this intervention as a provider, coordinator and trainer, I have supported and delivered the intervention at differing levels. This experience has provided me with a great grounding to support pupils, teachers and teaching assistants. My advice is to be yourself, keep paperwork organised and be reflective, always strive to improve upon your practice.
Give one interesting fact about yourself that might surprise people.
In my younger days, I partnered my father in the sport of racing pigeons. Our most successful win was with a blue bar hen called ‘Ceri Gold’, who found her way home to our loft from Brussels in Belgium.
